It’s "Brag About a Cool Company Month"!
So the Identi-fyi team has been out and about meeting with companies doing cool things in Northeast Ohio. These mid-market companies are the hidden gems of the region that need to be promoted to the college crowd. A couple examples:
HumanArc: “Human Arc delivers innovative solutions to income issues faced by hospitals, clinics, medical teaching centers and health systems across the United States through an array of insurance eligibility and receivables management services.” Essentially HumanArc ensures that hospitals are paid and that patients have access to all of their medical coverage options. They have a great place in the MidTown Neighborhood of Cleveland and are busting at the seams. They are just a block or two away from Bobby’s Deli if you’re in the neighborhood and are hungry.
Ross Environmental: “Through Ross Environmental, customers can access the talents and experience of highly qualified employees to help find solutions for their environmental challenges.” Ross Environmental is actually three companies (environmental consultation, incineration services, and logistical support) and is housed in an eco-friendly building on the campus of Lorain County Community College.
Both of these companies are doing great things for their community and are hiring talent INTO the region. Next time someone tells you that there are no jobs for college graduates in this town direct them to either HumanArc or Ross Environmental.
Take a minute and tell us about a cool company that you work with, for, or just admire…

I work at Skylight Financial Group located in Tower City and there are so many cool things about this company, I don’t don’t know where to begin! We are a direct affiliate of MassMutual who happens to be on the Fortune 100 Company List. (That’s better than Coca-Cola FYI) The financial advisors are cool along with our support staff who do so much to help the advisors succeed. We have training every week to make our advisors the best in the business…that’s pretty cool, too. Oh yeah, and the incentives for succeeding are phenomenal. This year the top producers are going on a Mediterranean cruise. Now that’s too cool for school.

Good post Bob! I think there’s tons of diamonds in the rough here in Greater Cleveland that don’t get enough exposure for what they’re doing. How about some of these:
Hyland Software
Sherwin Williams
All of the Cavs sister organizations
Progressive
JakPrints
Saeco
VSM Sewing
and a ton of others. Give me some time and I’ll return with more of a list for you.

I’ve worked with numerous cool companies in Northeast Ohio. One of my favorite is Lazorpoint in Lakewood. I’ve never met so many people so passionate about their work, which is amazing to me since they are an IT consulting firm.
Other companies I love:
BDI - industrial distributor
BW Rogers - industrial distributor
Charis Healthcare - consulting firm
Rosenberg Advertising - marcomm
Blue Robot - awesome flash work
That’s it for now… if I think of more, I’ll post more!

I work for COSE and The Greater Cleveland Partnership. I love working for them because of the extra things they help us accomplish and provide to us. They had CPR training in the office last week and this week for those that wanted to become certified.
They provide us w/access to the Executive Education Series w/CASE Western Reserve University and encourage continued learning thru these programs or other seminars and conferences. They want us to do more than our normal day to day tasks. Benefits are great too.
